I went to our local craft show this past Saturday, 'Christmas in the Country' and arrived only an hour after they opened to find to my surprise that some people were already almost sold out :( I guess that would be happiness to my hubby...LOL. I had so much money to spend and you all would be very proud of me because I only spent a 1/4 of it. There were some really nice prim things. But I have found myself looking at some things saying I just couldn't spend that much money when I know I can make it myself. Is that wrong of me? Not sure. But some things were rather pricey to me and like I said so pricey that I know I could make it on my own. BUT I did walk away purchasing a few things that either I could not make or that I just loved so much I couldn't leave it behind.
And lastly I bought this piece of stick with rusted nails spaced out.
So as you all can see, I was a good girl and that is all that I got. And as I mentioned since I saw some things there, that I knew I could make on my own. I got busy crafting...for quite sometime now I have been wanting to make up a batch of pantry cakes and decided I put it off long enough. Since the kitchen was already upside down from everything else and I was busy finishing up my gifts for my swap, I decided to get busy and whip up a batch of pantry cakes. They turned out so nice and smell really good. Now my display is complete...
I also wanted to make up some grungy soap. Janae from Cozy Girl had did some up when she re-did her bathroom with some really nice makeovers. I really liked the soap when I saw them, so I asked her how she did hers up and attempted my own. But realized when I finished them, they were a bit more grungy then hers. But that's OK, I am still happy with how they turned out. You can find hers on her blog dated July 19/2009.
I also have tons of these beeswax candles and decided to finish up the display I added three candles tied with cheesecloth and added a bit of sweet annie. Now this bowl does not look so empty and sits in my washroom on top of my dryer.
On to another note...I had to pay a visit to the Eye Dr once again with my little girl, Abigayle. Before school went in I had both of the girls eyes tested and things were good. But about a month ago, Abby's teacher called me saying that she was complaining all the time that she couldn't see the board. With her being the tallest in her class, of course she has to sit in the back. So when it came time to copy things off of the board, she would go up front sit on the floor and do her work. We finally had her appointment on Friday morning and come to find out her vision has changed drastically. I was shocked! How could it be??? I guess in July when her eyes were done, I don't remember this much but she was border line. The Dr asked me if she has had any growth spurts. I giggled and said when does she not??? I can't keep up with her, she grows so much that within 4-6 months we literally change sizes in clothes. In the past, the Dr's have told me she will be about a 6' tall girl...OH MY is all I said. You see, I am only 5' but my husband is 6' 2". So you can all see, she will be taking after her daddy.
Anyways, when a child has a growth spurt, their eyes are continuing to grow with their body's. Makes sense but I really never gave much thought to it. And since she did have a drastic growth spurt from July to now, this can very likely change her vision in which it did for the worse. And all along I kept thinking she was just pulling our leg. Boy did I feel bad when I found out that her vision for distant is quite poor. Bad MOMMY! The office worked very quickly though and had her glasses ready for us that same day in the afternoon. What a great team! Once they fitted the glasses to her face we stepped out of the back room and she started looking around. With excitement, she looks up at me and says's "Mommy, everything is so much bigger!"
I felt really bad then...all this time my poor girl was not seeing anything correctly.
All weekend she sported around her new look proudly. And everyone she met up with gave her positive compliments which made me happy. Because she is the type of kid, if you say something wrong or bad she takes it to heart and badly. And we really need her to wear them because they are now a necessity.
We find they have made her look older...so here she is :)
I shall run for now...million and one things need to be done and they wont be if I stay here all day...LOL.
So I hope the next post I will be of my Christmas decorations :)
Until next time my friends, stay safe and have a fun Thanksgiving Day!

Sandy!!! Ahh.. your poor baby girl.. but don't feel too badly mom, it happens. We just can't keep up with all our kids' needs. She's fine now and she looks so cute with those glasses, good choice! I have a niece who is about 6'1; since I apparently have 4 aunts who are all around 6' I'm not surprised. My niece bypassed me when she was about 9 or 10. So be prepared.. lol.. can't wait to see how long it takes Abby to outgrow you!
Nice purchases, I know what you mean about being able to make it yourself, except I usually can't! lol... mostly lack of proper tools :P .. oh well.. if the price is right I will also purchase, keeps crafters in business. I also think the pantry cakes are cute, I'm a bit prim-challenged, there are still terms that I don't understand or don't know the background story on. I also was so busy on Saturday and thought.. oh why not just make some little gingerbread ornies.. so instead of one batch I doubled it.. idjit!! LOL. I take on too much then add to it. Sheesh.. well I'm happy that I'm not the only one. Have a great afternoon!
Sandy,

Hi Sandy! I found you from another prim blog. Lol! Gotta love em!
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind answering a couple of questions for me please? First, I love your house! Lots of cute prim things. I've always loved the prim look, but just now getting into it all. I usually tea dye, but I see that you coffee dye. Is there a reason for this? Do you like the coffee look better than the tea dye? And... what all do you use the cheese cloth for? I like how you used it for the soap. Do you use it for other things?
Thanks for your time. Hope you have a marvelous weekend~
