Whatcha Working on Wednesday

It's Wednesday already???

Well, yes it is and I have somethings to share with you that I have been working on ;) Remember in my last post I said that I was working on something and I would show you once I was completed? Now I know it has taken me a LONG time to get this job done. But because it's a very small space and I don't work in high speed like I use too, it's finally done! I literally gave this room a really good cleaning after the painting was completed. And did you know when you are painting over a light color, it takes a few coats. And like I said, with it being a small space I have to wait for the coats to dry.

I liked my main bath before but I felt something was missing. So here it is before...
Now I wanted to do this when I first re-did the main bath but was too scared to. I finally decided it was only paint and if I didn't like it or IF I have to redo it, I can. So now here is the finished work...
I painted all the trim work, closet door and inside bath door with the color Townsend Harbor Brown by Benjamin Moore. It looks more like a burgundy but matches my curtains and the little box on the counter perfectly. I noticed the hooks on the back of the door need to be painted so I will get that done. But over all, I LOVE IT!

I also changed out all the outhouse decorations and went more primitive. Much better...
There will also be crown molding going up within the next three weeks. My DH called someone LAST year to come but he never showed!!! So enough is enough, I feel I have been patient enough...a year later!!! I told hubby to call someone else on Monday and we know this new person really well so he promised within the next three weeks he will be here. I so can't wait because I have had enough looking at the trim going down the stairs in the basement. I want to paint the trim before he puts it up because I think it will be much easier for hubby to do touch ups rather then paint the whole thing when it's up. I don't do heights because I have a awful fear and I have to admit, I am one messy painter. Another reason it took so long to complete my project. I have to tape everything off and believe it, when I removed the tape, the paint bled through. So I had to do touch ups afterwards.

Now my next problem are the cupboards?!?! When I painted the washroom with the light color, I did the side cupboard the same but with stain. I need to replace the front doors and drawers because it's melamine and not all that good to repaint because with past experiences the paint chips off. Now my question is, should I leave the side cupboard as is and paint the new doors and drawers the same OR should I go with mustard like my wall cupboard OR should I paint them the same with the new color that I just painted with???
HELP!!! I need opinions...

I also am having trouble picking a paint color to redo Abigayle's bedroom in. It really needs to be repainted since it has been a few years now and crown molding will also be going up in her room. So I would really like to paint her room before the crown molding goes up. I would rather lean towards a more prim color but she REALLY...REALLY wants her room to be pink. And I know that if I did do it in pink, I would have one really happy 7 year old. So I guess I am off tomorrow to look at some paint chips. I will not be painting it bubble gum pink like she really wants but I am willing to go a nice light shade of pink. She is only 7 once, right? So once that project is done, I will make sure to share some pics and I can bet ya there will be one happy girl in them...LOL.
My MIL had her Doctor Appointment last week and so far the cancer has not spread elsewhere. We were happy to hear that but now we still sit and wait for the call for when she will be having surgery. My poor MIL, this has been so ruff on her and now she worries the later it takes them to book the surgery, the later she will be able to work in her gardens. She is a garden fanatic! All Summer long, they have people from all over stop by and visit her gardens. Her yard is just BEAUTIFUL! I must post pictures this Summer for you all to see...

We are all praying for sooner rather then later...

Hubby has been out giving his resume to different companies. We really are praying for the other job but can't sit and wait for them just in case nothing ever happens. It's like I tell hubby, three months will be here faster then we can blink. I really am trying to be positive but it's so hard with so many things going on.

As it is, I also have something rather private and personal going on which is also draining me to no end. I truly pray by Summer everything will be done, OK and back to normal.
On a positive note, I made a order last week from a Wholesale company and the package arrived today. Oh boy, was I ever excited to rip it open. It was a BIG box and full of prim goodies :))))
The first couple of things were these beautiful hooked rugs. I LOVE both of them and they are huge!!!
Next were some redware and yellowware pieces that I have been wanting but too cheap to purchase in a store. I was surprised and so excited when I found them on the site. And you can use them, not only for decorations!
I also got this cute little drawer cabinet that I am thinking to convert to my jewelry box. I already have one but it's not prim and I was thinking this was more prim and would fit perfectly in my bedroom ;)
Now the next two pieces were so darn beautiful, I almost peed myself when I opened them...LOL. The rabbit redware plate is perfect! And the large bunny on the egg is even better then what I could imagine. It's also really tall and comes apart to make a candy dish. WOW!!!
I'm actually considering to keep these two pieces out all year round. That's how much I love them!

I then ordered 6 of these little redware plates but only got 5 and I am OK with that because they are also prim perfect!!! They are made out of red clay...aren't they wonderful???
This leads me to another question...because some products when you order them, they come in quantities. So I have duplicate plates. Onto my next question...would someone out there be willing or want to purchase some of these items??? I have one of each plate above, including the bunny plate that I would like to sell. I also have some other things. So I was thinking in a couple days I would make a post of all the items that I have duplicate of and list a price for each item. I also live right on the border of Canada and Maine so I am willing to cross the border to mail the items because let's face it, in Canada, our mailing fees are out of this world. So if I have some people who may be interested PLEASE do let me know.

So you can see with all these new goodies I received I spent the whole day tweaking. And boy oh boy am I having fun :)))) I have move so many things around today and could keep going but must call it quits for the night and continue on in the morning.

So here's a sneak peak of a change I made already...
I love my new hooked rug right where it is ;) I will share more pictures once I find the right spot for everything else ;)

Tomorrow will be Thursday which will lead to one more day for the girls and then we are on March Break for a week. YEAH...says the girls :) My sister is coming up also to spend a few days with us, should be lots of fun :) So where ever you live, I hope it will be a sunny weekend and everyone enjoys themselves just in case I am not back on Friday. I will be off for my Remicade Friday morning and normally when I get back home I sleep most of the day away. But I will try my best to make a post Friday, especially if I get some people interested on my things.

Until next time...

Do you mind me asking?...Where did you buy all your new things? I would love to have a little 'box' like you purchased for a jewelry box too. Keep up the great work, everything looks wonderful. Sandy,
The makeover is wonderful. It's amazing how something so simple as painting trim can make such a difference! I have been trying to convince myself to do something similar for months but keep talking myself out of it...

Have you seen Af's quilt? And her pink walls? I tried to stay away from pink when she was a baby because everything about a girl tends to be PINK. Of course, it backfired. When she was 3, I decided I had enough of her mint green walls and she agreed and begged for pink. So we painted it pink. Hers is a LIGHT pink and it's definitely brighter looking than I originally thought so I'm glad we went light. But we have the same thing you do...the rest of the house is all neutral and Prim and Af's room is all pink and girly. It's like you're in a different house! lol But it's HER bedroom and she loves it :) It also gives me the chance to make things in a different style!

Have a great day!

I like the beadboard in your bathroom. Everything looks great! I love your redware goodies and the sheep rug. My DH is retiring and we're both looking for jobs, so I can really relate. Good luck, we have until July to find something.

Wow, oh wow, I love it all. You have been busy. I love all of your new prim goodies. What is the name of the Prim store if you don't mind my asking? I love the rabbit on the egg and the hooked rugs. Way too cool. Or should I say way too Prim. I would be interested in the plate with the rabbit if you still have one. Let me know.
I have been very busy organizing my studio and sewing room so we have both been busy,
Have a great day.

My gosh, Sandy, you have been so busy! Everything looks wonderful. I sure know what you mean about being a messy painter...as much as DH doesn't like to do it - he is the first one to admit that when I even walk into a room that is being painted I get it all over me! LOL Love your wholesale goodies, I know what you mean about buying in quantities though. I love everything! :)

I love what you've done in your bathroom, Sandy! Are you thinking of doing the cabinets in that same rich brown?

It was fun to see your goodies and rearranging and I hope you'll get to enjoy them all when you find just the right places for them.

I also hope that your family's prayers will be answered soon on the health and job fronts. You sure do have a lot on your plates!

Oops! I meant to add that pink will be such fun in your daughter's room. And such an easy thing to do to make her happy.

We've decorated the kids' rooms as kids' rooms ... not prim/country at all. Michaela (who is 5) wanted pink too. So we put up a chair rail and painted the lower portion white and the top a lovely pink. Just an idea if you don't want TOO MUCH pink...

I liked your bathroom before the change, but the painted trim does bring it all together, doesn't it? I love the finished look! That brown is a lovely color, it does look a little on the burgundy side, but I love it! I think it would look good to paint your cupboards the same color as the trim.

My 11 yr old daughter is into hot pink and lime green. She was wanting to paint her walls those colors and I was willing to let her (like you said.. it's only paint, it can be painted over). Once we started buying and gathering things for her room, she realized that the pink and green wall colors would blend in with all her accents. I'm SO glad she realized this on her own because I did NOT want to paint her room those colors! Haha! Her room is painted in Sherwin-Williams Nomadic Desert which is like a dark tan. So her hot pink and lime green really pop out at you when you open her door! I can email you a picture if you want to show your daughter.

Your prim goodies are awesome! Oh my, I would so love to open a box and find all those wonderful pieces!

Still praying for your family situations. Have a wonderful week~
