The end of September already???

I can't believe that another month has come and gone. October tomorrow???
Here at the Beaulieu's Homestead, we have been very busy. I don't think I have even seen this month with everything going on.

To start off with...painting...which I find to be quite the hassle in our home. You see, it's quite small here, not giving us much room to move furniture around to get to all the corners to paint.
Since hubby started his new job, it hasn't given him much time at all to get any painting done.
He started the basement over a month ago and that is where it stayed. So come last Saturday, I got frustrated and decided to hire someone to get the job done. I really need to get my house back in order. I can not handle disruption nor a mess at all. The Dr did tell me to work on this, but it's very hard...

I can officially say 'YEAH' after a week of him being here, he is now gone. There are a couple things left to do, but between Mike and I, we will get it done ourselves. Can't afford to keep him at the house forever...

Our rec room has been emptied for new carpet to be laid. So no pictures yet ladies, but trust me, they are coming :)

In the meantime I will share with you my half bath. I picked everything out and had it all envisioned. Well let me tell you...I really love the colors that I chose. I might have to say that this just may be my favorite room of the house now...LOL...

The plumber was in and changed the piping around for the washer and dryer. I spoke of this in my past post. We now almost...I say almost have this room complete. I need to kick hubby in high gear. But since it's almost completed, I will share it with all of you :) Here is looking in from the hall...I made the curtains myself and am very pleased with how they turned out. I painted the counter top with paint from the Caromal Colours. After reading all the positive notes from everyone else, I ordered a bottle of Peppercorn (black) back in July and only got around to using it now, in this new renovated half bath. It is so easy to work with and is very durable. I give this product and 2 thumbs up! Alot cheaper then trying to replace this very small counter top. The black in the counter top pulls out the black from the curtains and handles.
Hubby still needs to add the wallpaper on this very small wall. He will be getting it done this weekend. You will also see in the next picture, he still needs to replace the last baseboard.
On top of the washer and dryer I added just two simple decor, such as a antique iron and and antique bottle of Javex. I LOVE the turnout of this room :))))) Can you see my smile??? LOL...
In the main hallway, the entrance, I had the painter paint the crown moulding, walls and baseboards the same color. He asked me three times if that was really what I wanted. He looked at me as if I had a third eye...LOL. But the reason I did this is because halfway up the wall will be a different design of wallpaper. Trust me, it will all blend in perfectly. I can't wait for Mike to get this paper up...patience...another thing I need to work on...LOL

Now when you walk through the front door...this is what you see...
The back of the stairs have all been primed and ready to be painted. You can see two of them already painted. I am really liking this also. When they are all painted, there will be a stencil added. I can't wait!!!

And of course the railing has to be done to match...
The back wall will be ALL wallpaper and not half way it because of the shape of this wall. So once the painting is done, the new wallpaper will be able to go up. I am so anal...I know but I want the painting done first so when Mike puts the wallpaper up, no paint will stand a chance getting on it.
I have been keeping hubby busy...he got off easy you know without having to paint the house ;)
Instead, he has all these little jobs left to do. I am crossing my fingers that it will be all done for next weekend. Do you think it will be??? I guess I will only know then...

And with all of this going on, I am still managing to get some things done for the Craft Show in Nov. I worked on these yesterday...made eight of them...

Et Voila! We have what is called 'Comfy Corn Bags'. They can be placed in the freezer or microwave. They can make the perfect little gift for Christmas if something small is needed. I will be making a few more because I need some for Christmas Gifts.

I still have this left over...
It doesn't even look like I made a dent in that extra large bag...LOL. I found this tutorial on someones blog but didn't mark who had posted it. I want to thank her though if she is reading this because this is one awesome idea!

Well my friends...I have plenty more to show you but I will leave that for another day.

I hope everyone is under shelter with all this rain that we have been getting. At least the warm air is still here to enjoy because we all know, pretty soon all that white stuff will be falling on the ground.
