...it seems like August just began and now here we are already in the month of September. Where does time go? Has everyone been enjoying these cool temperatures? I have to say, I LOVE Summer and the hot warm air that comes with it. BUT this Summer has simply been BRUTAL! I am looking forward to the cooler days and nights...I am so ready! I think my two baby girls are also...

...they both have claimed my chair but these poor things laid around like this the whole Summer. They were so hot and drank ALOT of water each day. I felt so bad for them :( I sure do love them both to death though...I don't know what I would do without either of them.

I can't believe that it has been over a month since my last post. I had best intentions to post earlier in the week but the other day, blogger was having issues and was not letting me in. Since things have slacked a bit for me, I am finally able to get on and update you all.
As you all know, the girls and I went to Ontario for almost three weeks. When we came home, I brought back one of my nephews. He spent a entire month at my house. So we had a bit of a full house. Gave us (my family) and my nephew a chance to get to know each other. Before we took him to the airport to fly back home, we spent a entire weekend camping. He and the girls had a blast and really enjoyed swimming for the most part. And to make it even better, we had awesome, hot weather for the entire weekend!
I have also been very busy preparing and making lists because I will be participating this year in our local
Christmas Craft Show. My brain is in overload...LOL. I have so many ideas! To be able to keep track, I have been writing everything down and tagging magazines. Oh boy there is just so much, I want to do it all! I know I can't but I will do my best. Because my house is upside down right now, I have decided to work on some cross stitches which require no room and space to work. When I have free time, I work on them. So considering that I have only started a week and a half ago and like I mentioned, working on them only when I have free time, this is what I have accomplished at this time. I have three more of the
'Silent Holy Night' completed.

The large pumpkin stitchery took me the longest, just due to the fact that it had to be completely filled in. The two pumpkin stitchery's are for me. I need to paint a couple frames so I can get them framed to enjoy with my Fall decor. All the patterns other then the bottom one come from
Primitive Bettys. On her side bar, she has posted many cross stitch patterns. The pattern on the bottom that I made two, are a pattern done by Jenn from
Taylors*Farmhouse*Attic. The pattern was posted for free on the Country Sampler Website when Jenn's home was featured. You can find the pattern
here :)
With planning and making things for my up coming Craft Show, I have also been very busy choosing paint colors to redo my main level bath, hallway up and down and living room. Paint colors, window coverings, stenciling...I want to make sure I choose perfect things required to complete each room and area. I finally have made my final decision and am very pleased. We started the half bath in which should be done this week. Do you want to see the damage??? Oh...alright...but I warn you, it's a work in progress.

The border has been removed (the glue showed up really bad on the walls-it's been there for 6 years), all the nail holes have been filled, cupboard doors removed and all ready for painting.

Since these pics, the cupboards are all painted a much warmer color :) This week, a plumber is coming home to swap my washer and dryer pipes. I LOVE my machines but the doors open back to back and since I am very short, I can't put the clothes in the dryer once they are washed. The machines have to be out for the plumber, so hubby will complete the back wall. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Here's a sneak peak of what you will find in this half bath :) I am really liking the patters :)

I can envision it all so well even though when I show other's, some thinks it will look awful as for others, they have to see it completed.
Hubby has almost completed the Living Room and then the stenciling will begin. So right now, my poor house is upside down and I am having a bit of a difficult time with this. I keep telling myself when the rooms are done, I will be very pleased :)
Since my last post, I also went a small shopping spree...the first order I made was from
Tammy over at A Primitive Place ~ Tammy. I got this awesome shoe form, small cute redware and 6 redware 'Merry Christmas' plates for the X-Mas Tree. I LOVE everything! You can click on the pic to make it bigger to see the plates.

Then on one of Tammy's older posts which can be located right
here, she mentioned that she purchased these wonderful material tags from Susie over at
Yankee Lane General Store. I fell in love with them right away and thought these will come in real handy when I start sewing a few things for my Craft Show. They truly are perfect prim pieces to stitch onto something else...

I also purchased this remake carpet beater and chair pad from one of my most favorite stores here in New Brunswick..
Wheatons. I love...love the chair pad...it's the colors I think that drew me to it.

The crock sitting in front came from one of the Antique Shops that my Brother In-Law took me to when I was in Ontario back in July. I was almost squealing when I laid my eyes on it. My Brother In-Law thought I was a bit quack-oh...LOL. Here's a better view of it...

Well my friends...the fun needs to come to a end. Big day for tomorrow...the girls go back to school ;) Abby is super excited, remember being little and you just couldn't wait to start??? That is my little Ab's a girl...grade 2 here she comes. As for Tab, she is more anxious to see her friends, wear her new clothes and see who her homeroom Teacher will be. We all will be falling back into our usual routines once again for another year.
I will be back later this week with some pictures to share with you all...
So until next time my friends...

Well I think you know what I think about this summer - brutal barely covers it! LOL
WOW WOW WOW - you have so much going on. I can't wait to see it all done!
What a pain about the washer and dryer but I know what you mean with the front loaders. I am so glad ours were plumbed that way already!
Hang on- once it is done you will be so happy - and so won't we because then we get to see pics!!
hugs!
PS it is humid and going up to 87 today! UGH!
Hi sandy! Nice to see a post from you. The time can get away from all of us at times.
Brutal is a good word for what summer always is down here. I know some people love it, but I don't. I live for the day when the last of summer is gone and the coolness comes. The warm/hot months last so long here in the south.
I'm looking forward to seeing all your new changes. Everything sounds great so far.
I hope the kids enjoy their first day of school. And I hope you have a great week!

I'm loving your stitcheries. I just adore Primitive Betty's designs! I didn't have Jenn's free design, thanks for sharing. I've downloaded it and can't wait to try it out.
Lots of work but you are right, it will all be worth it when you are done. Shoot girl, my home feels like it's upside down and I'm not even remodeling right now! Hehe! I love the colors and patterns you've picked out, looking forward to where you are going to use them.
Wonderful goodies you've bought! I want some of Susie's labels too. They are on my to get list. I've never had any, but the designs are prim wonderful!
Sandy,
I love the goodies you purchased and I can't wait to see all of your remodeling and decorating unfold!
