How is everyone handling this wicked heat wave? I think it has hit everyone from all over.
I decided last minute, last Tuesday night to go away on vacation with my younger sister. So the girls and I jumped into her car and headed to Ontario last Wed morning. Hubby is not able to get any Summer Vacation time due to his new job. I thought how boring for the girls to stay home for their Summer Vacation. So in the car we went for a 15 1/2 drive to visit with my brother and his children and my other sister and her children.
We will only be arriving back home on July 25th. That gives us 2 1/2 weeks of time to do alot of things. We did awesome time for driving but let me tell you it was brutal with the heat. My sister doesn't have air conditioning in her car so we drove the whole way with our windows down. Even though we had wind coming in the car, it was HOT wind! We stopped often for cold water. We all were very anxious to hit our destination :)
So sadly we had to leave hubby and my two fur babies behind :( I miss all three dearly...I can't wait to see them all! I talked to hubby often and he is missing us like crazy also. My poor Daisy girl (poodle) is hunting for me high and low. Poor thing, she is stuck to my left hip when I am home so I can see why she is missing her mommy.
Do you remember when I showed you all these three pieces that I had built??? It would have been a few posts back now...
I shall run for now...off to visit my grandparents that I haven't seen for over 10 years. Scary how time flies. We are suppose to be off to a fun filled park on Thurs with my Uncle who is only 4 years older then me :) I tease him all the time...LOL...he hates it when I call him Uncle. He has a daughter the same age as my little Abigayle and they have been hitting it off really great.
So we still have plenty of visiting to do and lots of other activities.
If I get a chance I will post some pics of our fun filled time away :)
Until next time...

Those are absolutely fantastic! I love the covers! The color you painted for the kitchen aid mixer cover is great.
I think you are absolutely hilarious about the cord hanging out-no one will notice. I am the same with my own stuff though though, too.
That sounds like a BRUTAL drive with no AC. Good to make memories though. It is pouring cats and dogs out here for the past few days.
Hi Sandy...what a fun vacation but I know what you are saying about missing everyone back home including the fur babies...sometimes when I think of going on a fabulous vacation that would take me away for more than 3-4 days I get all sad leaving my two little ones. I know they will be fine but they are soooo alone...at least your little ones have your husband with them.
Now onto your projects...FABULOUS!
I love the pipe box...they are becoming popular again aren't they.
You are soooo talented.
ENJOY THE VACATION!
Hugs, Karen
I love the kitchenaide cover! It is awesome. I have one and would love to cover it. *sigh*

Hi Sandy,
I just love the mixer cover. What a wonderful idea. And I love that it looks like a little cabinet. You are just so talented. Can't wait to see the stitcheries. That is another favorite of mine to do as well.
Y'all take care, Linda

Hey Sandy, that's really cool you get to have some vacation time!! and with your girls and family! I do bet your hubby and little doggies miss you alot!! You're a great family unit!! Your new wooden items are great!! That's very clever to cover your mixer that way! Your house always looks so adorable. Have a safe trip home. XO Fran.
Goodness girl, that sounds like a long trip but worth it when you get there!
I just love all the things you have been busy working on! The cover for the kitchen aid is ingenious! I'll have to remember that when I get my mixer.
Enjoy the rest of your time away! I hope it's not so hot when you come back home.
