WiShiNg A hApPy EaStEr...

I wanted to drop in and wish everyone a very Happy Easter!

To have a change of mind today, we went to the Sugar Camp with my husbands side of the family early in the afternoon. This was really neat because the man who runs the sugar camp gave us a complete tour of the area. Showing us step by step when the sap comes out of the trees to how it is turned in maple syrup. Very amazing and talk about alot of steps. You obviously need alot of time and patience to make sugar products. But this is his passion and being retired he now has time to do it.

Here you see all the family gathered around the table of clean snow where the syrup once boiled at a perfect temperature is poured onto the snow and within seconds you take a popsicle stick and just start turning it in to sap until it is completely wrapped around your stick.
As you can see the kids were truly enjoying it but I think the adults enjoyed it just as much :) As for me...I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I did have some. But boy oh boy was it sweet. A bit to sweet for myself.
This is my cute little nephew and godson, Ryan...he was just to cute because he was wodding it all in. Once he was finished he had one sweet face. Standing beside him is his bigger sister, Keisha.
We spent a good two hours at the camp with a whole lot of enjoyment. This may become a family tradition. We then went back to my in laws for a wonderful supper. It was a great day...other then that white stuff that you may call snow...LOL. Yes, you guessed it...it is snowing once again. I sure do hope this will be the last of it for the year :)

I also wanted to give you guys a brief update on my Uncle. But before I do, I truly have to say a Big Thank You to you all for all your kind words. It is so nice to have so many kind people that really care out there in this big world.

My Uncle is still hanging in which is amazing everyone. The Doctors said he would be lucky if he was to make another couple days. And at this moment he is truly amazing everyone. My cousins wont leave his side which is so touching to me. He has had some really rough nights but Dad told me yesterday he actually woke up and shaved himself and combed his hair and was saying some jokes. But he refuses to actually lay completely down in his bed to go to sleep because he is really scared that if he does he will die. So instead he sleeps sitting up holding onto the bed rails. He doses off for about 20 minutes and then wakes back up for another 20 minutes. But he is completely bed ridden, his feet are so swollen that he couldn't even walk if he wanted to. The doctors switched his medication so he no longer feels pain. But most of all he is so grateful to have all his brothers, sister and children by his bedside. I think just knowing that makes him feel all good inside since he was a man that lived all alone for the past 10 years. It's amazing how a family can come together for such trying times. Even though they all don't see eye to eye they are all trying to be civil for their brother. I wish him so much peace.

I will keep you posted and again I want to say Thank You for all your prayers.

Until next time my Friends...

Sandy Happy Easter to you as well.
I'm new to your blog. I as well love Prims. I'm sorry to hear about your Uncle. There are no words to say to make it go away. Be strong, make sure you always show your love to those that are close to you and its ok to cry. That just makes us stronger. We celebrated our maple syrup festival last weekend. Did you know that real maple syrup has calcium in it. So I make a Latte every morning. Got to keep those bones healthy. See you soon Linda from Ont. Canada

how fun! Ella and I will come with you next year, lol! I wish your uncle much peace too. Breaks my heart to know he is afraid to go to sleep in his bed for fear he won't wake up the next morning.

May the good Lord bless & give you peace & keep your Uncle comfortable until his passage to the Heavens. Regardless of age, no Mother or Father should have to loose a child ... I know this first hand. Prayers for all are being said. Know you have a world of support from your 'friends' out here.

It is such fun to go to a maple syrup demonstration/tapping. Very educational & quite tasty.
