FoUr DaYs TiLl ChRiStMaS...

Can you believe that we are only four days away from Christmas?
It seems like we were just celebrating the Fall Season and here we are now just days away to a special time of the year for me. I love this time of the year, for we gather with our Families and share food, laughter, stories and some good times. To me Christmas is for the little ones...just watching them open their gifts with such surprise and seeing them being so hyper.

This year we will be celebrating three days straight :) We will start off Christmas Eve attending the evening mass and watching Tabitha sing with the Church Choir. The Choir sings for a hour straight and they do such a wonderful job. My DH, DD's and I will return back to our house with my In-laws to have some homemade chicken stew with some wonderful sweets that I made. Once we have completed eating and chatting we will open our gifts from us. But of course there were be a couple untouched because Santa arrives in the middle of the night :) We will then start off Christmas Day with the gifts and stockings from Santa and then get ready to head out to my parents house for a wonderful turkey supper. Oh how I love turkey and dressing with all the veggies. We will then share and open our gifts amongst ourselves. My 96 year old Grandmother will also be attending the supper with us. Later in the evening we will all arrive home with some full bellies and relax in front of the TV watching some Christmas Movies. And then on Boxing Day we head on over to the In-Laws for another wonderful supper with my hubbies brother, wife and kids. We will also then open more gifts that we have for each other yet again. My girls are so excited because they get to celebrate Christmas three days straight. Oh how fun it will be. It is the only time of the year that my hubby gets two days off straight in a row. I can not wait for all the fun we shall share :)

If you all can remember I had some projects that I had started...hehe...well I have completed all of them except for one. I told you I would share my projects, so here we are...

Here is my snowman head all completed. Oh boy did I ever have a hard time making his hat. I look at the little guy and find he looks a bit like a pumpkin and not a snowman. But I followed all the instructions and made him as is. He is CUTE and I am pleased with him. Don't forget to click on the pictures if you want to see a close up.
Next are my little candy canes. What a messy job! But yet again, I am pleased with how they turned out. I decided I wanted to put them in my applesauce/dough Christmas tree just to add a little bit of color. I made something like 20 of them. This was a very easy project and can be made with the help of kiddies.
Here is a full look of the tree with them...
I made three large ones which I tied together with some jute and added a safety pin with some rusty bells. I tucked them in my towel that hangs in the half bath on the main level of the house. I just wanted a little touch and achieved it.
Next were the Snowmen faces that I got from Colleen over at ...and baby makes five,
I still haven't decided what I want to do with them but my DH gave me the idea that he could drill on top of the heads and we could add jute so I can make them into tree ornaments. So I may give some a try and then take the rest and add them to a bowl for some bowl fillers. Again, these were very easy to make and I want to Thank Colleen for sharing the idea.
My last project is my snowmen penny rug. It is coming along slowly but surely. It is looking good and I can not wait to have it finished. But like I said in earlier posts, I can keep it out longer so that is why I am not stressed out that it is not done yet. I even have been thinking how I can alter it with other colors to make another one a bit different. I was thinking a black background with just the heads and scarf, no hat. Something a bit different. I guess I will see once I complete this one and see if I will make the other one. Known me, I probably will :)
Well that is all for today my friends!
Now we all must get ready for Tabitha's Christmas Concert with her private singing lessons teacher and students. Oh how fun it will be listening to some Christmas music...we will all leave with the Christmas Spirit :)

Have a great and wonderful rest of the weekend and I will be checking back to see what you all have left to do before the BIG DAY!

Oh, Sandy -- I love all of your creations! The snowmen ornies turned out great!

We're gearing up for lots of company and activity as well ... so the excitement is really building. My brother arrives tomorrow for three nights of fun, my in-laws will be here for Xmas Eve dinner, and my parents/brother will be here for brunch on the 25th. We have other events planned after Christmas too, but I'm not hosting those.

I've been busy in the kitchen and there's still more yet to do, but everything will come together somehow. It always does.

Enjoy your merry making and have a wonderful Christmas.

Rondell gave me a snowman head sort of like those and there was a wire coming out of the top and it was bent into a hook to hang on the tree so jute should work too.
