Today is one Winter day! We had freezing rain, sleet and snow and now one large skating rink outside...LOL. So I guess we can honestly say Winter is officially here...YUCK!
On Sunday all of us girls got together...turned out to be 7 of us in total...we did our exchange for the Christmas sweets. Oh boy did we walk away with
alot of different kinds...YUMMY!!! But now I seem to have a problem...I can't seem to keep my DH and girls out of it. I think it might be all gone by the time Christmas comes.
I also made it to the craft show on Saturday and bought a few items from two different people. There were two girls there making Prim things and selling their items so
CHEAP! I could not resist...I had to buy a couple of things. I bought the Santa hat, the Santa and the set of skates from them. I just loved all their work but told myself I have to set a limit. The Santa hat actually sits on a bottle of wine...what a great idea!

I then purchased the stocking from the other lady. She does all her work by hand. Every little stitch...imagine that. I thought it was the most cutest thing that you could ever see and want to make a little arrangement inside. But what amazes me the most is the stitching all by hand. The picture does not give it justice at all!

Now to
~Whatcha Working On Wednesday~ hosted by Leslie...
I started cutting out all the pieces for this
CUTE new penny rug pattern that I found over at our local quilting shop. The pieces are now all cut out so now I need to begin my stitching. Of course I did not have quite all the colors here at home so I substituted with what I had. It is going to be so cute and I am thinking I will be able to leave it out after Christmas to enjoy.

I also am almost done my stitchery...by tonight it will be all stitched and then it is to decide what to do with it. I am thinking framing it but we will see. I also have four more snowmen faces all ready to be stitched. I loved making them and they were so easy to do that I decided to make another set. They probably will end up in the tree...the fuller the better right??? :)

I also finally put my gift baskets together today. I love how they turned out! I would so love to receive one for Christmas so I am hoping that everyone will enjoy their gift. I added 4 mugs, 4 coasters, 2 sets of 4 chocolate covered spoons, a package of homemade Santa Faces chocolates, the homemade hot chocolate mixture, two bags of snowmen poop...LOL (mini-marshmallows) two mini bottles of something special for Mommy and Daddy to add to their hot chocolates :), a room spray made by me and a homemade night light also made by me.

It all looks so great and fits just right in the basket. Mind you I found it all set to low in the basket so I added tissue on the bottom which brought the items up more and put the basket in a Christmas cellophane bag which I got from the Dollarstore. These baskets were so fun and easy to make.

So that was my fun filled day for today :)
Tomorrow will be another day of crafting I believe. I saw over at Colleens..."
...and baby makes five a wonderful idea on making some prim snowmen faces with salt dough. I just may give them a try. I love them so much and they seem rather easy to do. The ideas are limited to what you could use them for. Colleen made a wreath but I was thinking ornaments on the tree or attached to a gift to even as bowl fillers. The ideas are just endless.
I am off to read a couple more blogs before I head to the Rec Room and continue my stitchery and snowmen faces. To everyone...have a great evening :)

You've been busy, Sandy! And you just can't go wrong with snowmen :) I can't wait to see what you do with your salt dough creations! I already have a few more ideas, but I think they'll have to wait until after Christmas.
We're expecting the same weather here late tomorrow and into Friday... I did my shopping today so that I'm well-stocked for baking and making more holiday munchies.
Have a great night, my friend!
My goodness you were busy!

How much fun - a sweets exchange...love the idea and I'd be in them just like your family! lol Things like that just wouldn't last here either.

WOW!! You have definitely been busy! I love the stocking and the penny rug - can't get enough snowmen!
Sounds like lot going on and keeping you hopping. I love that basket idea. I'm tucking that idea away for future use - who knows maybe even this year.

Sandy, I love your stitcheries! And the gift baskets, yummmm! If you have an extra, send it down my way! LOL
Your gift basket is wonderful. I am so impressed that you MADE the basket--that is a true talent. That stocking is darling as is your snowmen and stitchery. You have been busy, too!! Have a great day. Julie
I like the items you picked up at the craft show.
The things you have been working on are nice, too. I so want to do a penny rug runner and I have enough felt to do it...it's just finding the time. A snowman one would work best so I can always do it after Christmas :)
Have a wonderful day!
Leslie
