~ Whatcha Working On Wednesday ~

Hi Everyone!

Today is just beautiful outside!!!
We can actually go out with no coats...just T-Shirts. Something is wrong here because we are in the month of November. But I am not complaining...bring it on! I am not much of a person who likes the cold. If I could hibernate like a bear, I would...LOL.
Tomorrow they are calling for +16...WOW...now that is warm weather!

I have some new projects that I started for my Christmas decorating...

Here is yet again another stitchery...LOL...I am addicted!!! This was just a little something that I thought of and put together within the hour. Very simple but yet really cute!
I then started these cute little snowman heads that I will hang on the tree. It was a free pattern from "Olde Homestead Barn" . She has them showing as bowl fillers but I thought they would add that extra touch to what will be my very prim Christmas Tree.
I have all there faces stitched...now I need to coffee stain them and then I will be able stuff and sew. Sadly tonight I will have to call it quits because I have a meeting this evening and by the time I get home it will be to late. So hopefully I will get them completed tomorrow.

I had someone ask me how I stain my items to get the prim look. I know the majority of you already know but for those who are still questioning, I will share. There are so many ways I guess but what works best for me is just a few tablespoons of coffee in hot water so the grains will all dissolve. I then add my material and let the coffee soak into the material. Sometimes I will add vanilla just for that extra scent. And if you want that real grungy look you can also add cinnamon to your coffee and vanilla. But I would not recommend the cinnamon on stitchery's. I think it would just be to grungy. I then set my oven to 250 and put my material on a cookie sheet. Make sure you keep an eye on it because this does not take long at all. You get that little burnt look to the material which I really like. Est Voila! Primed to perfection...at least for me :)

I also made a order from Prims *N* Tiques...the last of what I need to decorate my Prim Christmas Tree. She makes such wonderful things and has very quick service...I am yet another satisfied customer. I ordered a set of 5 Candy Canes, a set of 3 Snowmen hats and one large Snowman Hat with a carrot and mits. Everything is so prim, I just love it all!!! The items are for bowl fillers but I really wanted them to put in my tree, so I may need to add some string so they will hang.
I am starting to get antsy to decorate for Christmas. It seems weird wanting to when the weather is so nice. Hard to believe that Christmas is less then 2 months away. But I am trying real hard to hold off till after Rememberance Day. Just due to the fact of respecting the ones who served for our Freedom. That was what I was always told and I guess it just stuck with me over the years. The girls also are very excited because they each will have their own tree in their bedrooms but also we will have trees ALL over the house. I am so excited and have been planning it all out in my head. People are already asking me when will I decide to decorate. They know me all to well...LOL.

And one last item to mention...this marks my 99th post. So you all know what that means??? Tomorrow will be my 100th. So I suggest that you make sure to come and check me out tomorrow sometime to see what I have planned for all of you. I am so excited...I just can't wait :))))))))))

So until tomorrow...

Sandy

I think waiting until after Rembrance Day to decorate,(Veteran's day in my state) is a wonderful idea!! We are having the same weather - too warm for me in November. It was almost humid today.

Love your little snowmen and I can't wait to see your prim tree!

Hi Sandy,

My notebooks and binders are wrapped in heavy duty kraft wrapping paper. I buy big rolls of it from Nasheville Wraps - they last me for years and look good under the tree too!

I just stopped over from Leslie's linky. Love your new stitchery! And one hour! I think I've just found my new Christmas item. We are having a handmade Christmas and I just wasn't sure what to do with the time I have remaining.

Can you share how you attached the stitchery to the fabric? In any event, its beautitful!

I can just imagine a little tree covered with those snowman faces. So cute!

Smiles,
LeA
