~ Whatcha Working On Wednesday ~

It's ~Whatcha Working On Wednesday~ yet again...
It seems like time creeps upon us so quickly...
How is your weather holding up? It finally has turned cold here :(
I could do without the coldness...not much of a Winter person. I know what comes with it...below temperatures, colds, flues, snow storms, dangerous driving and the list goes on. I know it could be a whole lot worse and I really should be grateful and yet I really am...it's just that Winter feels so long here in our neck of the woods. If only Summer could last that long :)

I haven't been blogging much because I had a little girl who started feeling sick on Sunday and still is in bad shape. My poor little Abigayle...the doctors told me that this cold is a nasty one and it has been lasting for about 5-7 days. He was not kidding...
I took her to the hospital on Tuesday morning and by the time we left we had a few prescriptions in hand. The doctor has her on two different pumps (for her lungs), antibiotics for both of her ears...bad infections and I have to give her Advil for her really bad headaches and fever that still has been lingering on since Monday. I feel so much for her but am trying to be careful yet since I have my infusion on Friday and I can not afford to be sick. So I can say that my poor hands are getting pretty dried out.
She will be staying home yet again tomorrow just to make sure we have this nasty cold under control. She said to me today that she is missing her friends from school and thinks the teacher might be missing her also. How sweet :) Thank God she is only in Kindergarten because this will make her missing 4 days in total. And I am not one who likes keeping the kids home BUT I can not send her to school with her being so weak. She has lived on the couch for the past 3 days...has not hardly eaten and she has a very large appetite and loves food! She is normally my active child and when I see her like this, I know she truly is sick. So I hope she will start feeling better real soon.
Even though I have been spending most of my time with my little one I did squeeze in sometime to make some crafts. I found this wonderful pattern...can't remember who now...I am so sorry...BUT these were so easy to make and I love how they turned out!
I purchased plastic candy canes from the dollar store, wrapped muslin all around each one, then hot glued the tip, sprayed with coffee and sprinkled cinnamon for that prim look, tied on some jute and I added a rusty safety pin with a couple of rusty bells attached to the jute. It was that simple :)
I forgot to take a picture of my next project but I decided to make another set of my snowmen heads to add to my tree. They are just to cute how could I not resist them.

I also want to make up a pattern tomorrow of another stitchery so I will have something to do while getting my infusion Friday morning. Those 4 hours are very long when you have nothing to do.

I also have been decorating some more for Christmas but no pictures yet...
Once the house is completely decorated I will make sure to post pictures. We have Christmas Trees all over the house and some other great goodies :) The last few days I received these two wonderful awards from two really great people. Debra from Pilgrims and Pioneers...I have been visiting her blog for quite sometime now and love it! I also then received another award from someone new, Cathy from Home Sweet Home, Noble. The candy canes are so cute and they sound so easy - one wouldn't need a pattern or instructrions...GREAT JOB.

I hope Abigayle feels better very soon. Actually, I'm amazed that they just called that a "cold"....that would be more like bronchitis or pneumonia to me...at least that's what they call it when Shane's on that many medications! LOL Anyway, I know it knocks them on their butts and it's so hard as a Mom to see them that sick...:(

Love the candy canes! I have some of those tucked away with the Christmas stuff that I could never figure out what to do with. They're getting Primmed up this year!

Have a great day!

Poor Abigayle... I hope she starts feeling better soon, Sandy. We went through that a few weeks ago and it's certainly no fun.

Winter isn't officially here, but the temps have dipped dramatically and the wind has been fierce these last few days. I hope the snow holds off a bit longer as we often have storms into March and sometimes April. Oh my!

Your candy canes are adorable and I'm really looking forward to your Christmas photos...

Good luck with your treatment tomorrow!

Sandy,

First of all, I hope Abigayle is feeling better soon and that everyone else stays well! It's so hard when our kids are sick....I'd rather be sick anyday...I hate to see them feeling bad! And that is the bad part of winter, especially probably where you are with all that cold and snow!

And second of all, I absolutely LOVE those candy canes! Are they really that easy? I'm going to stop in tonight and pick up some from the Dollar Tree and try it. I want some to go in a little holder I have. Do you just mix the coffee and cinnamon together and pour it in a container with a sprayer and spray on in random spots? They're adorable!

Have a great day!
