I made some grubby candles, primmed my new pieces of furniture that I had made to preparing a surprise birthday party for my 96 year old Grandmother. And then of course there is still the everyday tasks required with children. Running from this practice to that practice and then the everyday home requirements. And of course I think Spring forgot to come our way. I see everyone's blogs with beautiful flowers coming up, nice green grass. And then there is us...still a good 6 feet of snow on the front lawn. I don't know if all this snow will ever melt. I am convinced that we will have snow right up till June :(
I took a couple of photos of my grubby candles. First time ever making them and I am very pleased on the turn out. I made some with cinnamon and the balance with ground nutmeg. I made a total of 8 of them and now they are selling like hot cakes.
The next couple of photos are of the furniture that I had made. I am so pleased with what was made but they were not primmed enough for me so I added a coat of rubbed on stain just to make them look a little old. WOW...is all I can say! I love my pieces now. Take a look...
My bowl rack...of course I need to add a few more bowls to the rack but I love it.
My peg board candle holder...my favorite piece. In the stores they were selling these for $100, I had two made for $40...
Here is another piece that is beautiful...a cupboard that hangs over my toilet. It is very large but I am very pleased with how it turned out.
Before I sign off for the day I must share with you all the snow that remains for us here in New Brunswick, Canada
Now people can see how discouraging it is and why I think Spring forgot to come. Of course this year we broke records for the amount of snow that fell.
Well I shall run and finish off preparing for my Grandmother's birthday. I will post some photos tomorrow for you all to see how wonderful she looks at her age.
Until next time...
Sandy
