HuBbY's BuSy At WoRk

The weather here has been so nice! Spring has finally found it's way up North. I have about 2 feet of snow left on my front lawn and my flowers are beginning to bud. Making it more anxious to get outside and work in the flowers. I can not wait!!!

Over the weekend Hubby and I decided to put tiles on our back splash in the kitchen. What a decision to make...so many to choose from BUT I finally found the one I love!
I cleaned of the counter for my hubby and removed the switch covers so it will be all ready for him to begin his job. Here is a sneak peak before we began the project.

In the next photo my husband was busy all week making a butcher block. Something he always wanted. So he made it the size of the top of the stove. It is so HEAVY I am sure it weighs more then my youngest daughter...lol. But he did such a good job that I have decided now I want one to be my counter top for our main bath. He just chuckled but I will win and we will have one. But I will wait until he finishes with the back splash before I tell him to make me a counter top...hehe.

Here is a sneak peak, the beginning of the project...looking sharp!

Now you will have to wait and see the finished project. So be sure to stay tuned...

Before I sing off for the night, I have a question for all of you out there. I had a old bucket laying around and had a local lady paint on it for me. Originally I was going to put it in my bedroom but it turned out more beautifully then I thought that I have decided I want to put it in my living room. Now I am stumped to what to put in it. I know the ideas are limited but I want something that I may have already laying around the house. The bucket is a bit deep so I would love some ideas...does anyone have any???

This is what it looks like...

Well I must run for now and finish helping my husband before I get into trouble...hehe. But I will post photos when we are all done. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Until next time...Sandy

What about some country magazines or fill it with some prim kitties, I saw this on Primp Your Pad, she has a wooden box filled with cloth kitties and it is so neat. I've decided to collect them too and now I have one...it's a start!

Sandy, I love how your kitchen is looking, I've also passed the You Make My Day award on to you. Debra from Pilgrims and Pioneers passed it to me. You can see the rules on my blog, have a great Sunday.

I love your kitchen! I think we have the same countertops. We're redoing our kitchen too right now. We should hopefully have it done by next weekend. Not fun but worth the effort! Your backsplash is coming along great!

I think the bucket could be used for anything for storage... magazines, toys, a throw blanket. Or for decoration. I have an old bucket with artificial flowers in it at my house. It look nice and springy! I have a picture of it on my blog.

Have a great weekend!

My name is Kat & its my first visit to your blog. LOVE it!!!!and ADORE the painted bucket...I would put country magazines in it, or display some yarn, or fabric, stitcheries from handstitching while watching t.v.or I might even use it for our puppy toys. (although its awfully nice for that) Im just sayin!
