We finally had some really nice weather here. The sun has been so strong it is melting the snow away. I probably have about 3 feet of snow left on the front lawn now and I am seeing some really soggy grass on the edges...
I have been busy trying to finish my penny rug. Thought I would share were I am at. I am almost completed, I just need to do the blanket stitch all around it now. So what do you all think? I only hope I can do the blanket stitch correctly since I was not able to figure it out before. I shall be OK...I am pretty proud since it is my first one. And I also want to THANK everyone for their comments and help!!!
Also I wanted to share my recent purchases. I finally found a Weathervane that I love AND with a Rooster. For those of you who do not know, I seem to have a thing for Roosters. It all started with the Rooster next to my Weathervane. You see my grandmother has had this Rooster for many, many years and when she was placed in a home she gave me the hen and rooster. Since then I began my decorating all around that. But I love my weathervane SO MUCH!!! I purchased my two items through "Tender Hearts". First time ordering from them and I am very impressed. Not expansive at all and good quality!
My next item is a old version of a scale. It is just beautiful! I have been trying to order one of these through another company and they have always been out of stock so I was very excited when I found one at "Tender Hearts". Thank God for the Country Sampler because that is where I found "Tender Hearts".
And then of course I can not keep myself busy by just doing one project, like my penny rug...I have to do multiples. So if I get fed up of one I can move onto the next. I have been busy painting items so I can make them look Prim afterwards and sell them off. Of course I have people making orders already. But I enjoy it and that is what counts :) I still have a few items to paint before sanding the edges and adding stain to give them that old look. I will give you a sneak peek of the items. Sadly I am limited on space and the weather outside is not up to par yet so I am painting in my kitchen and letting the items dry in the living room.
So you see I keep myself quite busy at all times. I do not know what the word "RELAX" means...lol. Even when I am sitting and watching TV I have to be doing something else at the same time. I have always been like that. Well I shall run and prepare everything for tomorrow...school lunches, clothes, shower and then bed. But I want to share with you what my 5 year old daughter did. She says she wrote me a love note...of course she has no clue how to write but she sure does know how to work the computer. She is just to CUTE!!!

Your penny rug looks great! Have any ideas on how your going to display it?
Your weathervane looks perfect in it's spot! I haven't ordered from Tender Hearts in awhile but always liked what I got from there.
I'm sure you will glad when the snow is gone and you can do your projects outside. Everything looks good that you started on!
Have a great night!
Your daughter is so sweet...I love your penny rug, was it a kit? Oh, I also have added you to my favorites, got to come home while the little on is in preschool.
The penny rug was a free pattern from "The Primitive Pear". Not sure if she is still offering the free pattern or not but I love it. At this moment I have no idea how I am going to display it. I changed the pattern a bit. On the instructions I am suppose to cut around the outside circles and they have it displayed on a antique looking hanger but I think I may use it as a doilie. Not sure quite yet. Need to finish it off and then I guess I will see what's next.
