I am back :-)

I have made it back safe and sound! What a long trip home. My husbands meetings ran later then expected so we left late. It is a three hour drive away BUT took us about four and half instead. The highway was FULL of deer out grazing. It wouldn't be just one or two deer...there were always 20 or plus more. Very nerve wrecking...no chance of falling asleep at the wheel...LOL

I am happy to be home...it is always nice to get away but always nice to get back. I missed the girls so much even though it was only two days. When you are so use to having them around 24/7 it just feels odd when they are not there. My little one was crying on the phone wanting us to come home and that makes me feel even more guilty. Of course we brought them back a little gift in which they were so anxious to get this morning. I did alot of browsing and bought some items but not alot. I was a good very girl ;) hehe

Of course I had to make a pit stop at the Dollarstore to see if they had more tea lights so I can make more of my grubby candles and I found quite a few but also a very different looking coffee grinder. I am sure it does not work properly but makes a excellent decoration. I also couldn't pass up the yellow lined mini note pads. There were items there that we do not have at our local store. You can take a look here...

I then headed over to the Michaels store and of course bought some items there. I found two different Candle Wiz-Aroma Fragrance, scents Amaretto and Chocolate. They were only $1.50 each, got them on sale! Also Candle Oil - Cinnamon Swirl, a package of pre-wax wire wick, cork board and a Dog Bone Cookie Cutter. I am going to to attempt to make a Apple Crumble Pie Candle and Country Coasters. I found the instructions in the online Primitive Times Magazines. They have some really neat things in there. Each month I print off a copy and place it in a binder. If anyone is interested in the Candle it can be found in the April 2007 Magazine and the Coasters in the Nov 2007 Magazine. You can go to the Archives and see any month you wish. The coasters are really easy to make and I loved the idea so much that I am going to attempt it. No sewing required...imagine that!!! Now were talking.

I also got the Dog Bone Cookie Cutter because I have been making my own Dog Treats in which little Daisy just LOVES! When I am cooking them up she is at my side. She will not eat the store boughten ones no longer. I also have been selling them in decorated bags and people have been buying them quicker then I can get them ready...LOL
Here is the recipe that I use, it is so simple. If you have a dog, he/she will love you for them! They are called Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits, recipe consists of;
~ 2 cups of Whole Wheat Flour
~ 1 tbsp baking powder
~ 1 cup of Peanut Butter
~ 1 cup of Milk
Mix all together well then roll out about 1 inch thick and cut out the shapes. Place on a ungreased pan, bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Then serve ;)

Now to continue back to my purchases, I went to my favorite store and believe it or not I was so good in there. Of course I did alot of ooohhhh's and aaahhh's...lol BUT I did not purchase alot at all. I did purchase a little braided mat to put on my husbands cutting board on the stove and also my ultimate favorite Homemade Vanilla Caramels...they are just absolutely delicious!!! I also found a Five Minute Cheesecake Chocolate Amaretto Mix. It sounds to be so good can't wait to make it. It seems like I purchased something else but can not think what it is at the moment. I know pretty bad but I have such a bad memory...SORRY!

And then of course I had to head over to the Sears store. Can not go shopping without going there. I purchased some new sneakers...now I await for all the snow to melt so I can head over to the track and walk. I have been having such a hard time loosing weight so I am hoping that if I do alot of walking the pounds will drop off...lol. But while I was browsing there I came across these most adorable mini-bunt cake pans. I have been enjoying baking so much that I thought these would be so cute to add to my baking collection. They were $6.99 each with 40% off, that is why I couldn't leave them behind.

And then to finish off my shopping for the day...I scouted over to the Chapters store hoping to find a good book about Primitive Decorating BUT of course did not find any BUT I did find these books which are really good. The books were called "Junk Beautiful" I thought of Trash2Treasure when I saw this book. It has some really neat ideas! The other book is called "County Escapes" and again some really neat
decorating ideas.

Last but not least on our way home since it was such a long trip...I completed my Penny Rug! YEIH!!! It looks so beautiful...now I need to find the right spot for it. Of course I have a couple of errors in it but I don't think you guys will find them...at least I hope not...LOL

WOW! So sorry that this blog is so long...I guess I had alot to say...hehe. I shall run and finish up the laundry...it piles up when your still not home.

Until next time...Sandy

The penny rug was actually very easy to make ;)
If anyone would like a copy of the penny rug pattern, I have it saved on my computer I can email it to you. Just send me your email address and I will forward it along no problem at all. The pattern came from The Primitive Pear awhile back.
