I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend with sun ;)
Us poor New Brunswickers had nothing but rain ALL weekend. I had to cancel my Yard/Prim Craft Sale due to so much rain. We had so much down poor causing the water levels to rise in the rivers. It seems that the month of June has been a wet one. Hopefully July and August will be full of sun :)
I had a Baby Shower to attend today, so I decided to make a cake like Colleen from http://www.andbabymakesfive-colleen.blogspot.com . A few posts back she posted some pictures of a cake made with baby items. What a hit it was and how beautiful it looked. But boy it was hard to make! I had a difficult time wrapping the diapers around to make my layers. You need a third hand...lol. I added three blankets around each layer of cake and since we do not know what she is having I chose receiving blankets with neutral colors. Amongst the layers I added some bibs, little baby spoons, a cheerio carry along bowl, some little bottles of soaps, shampoos, baby powder ect...to carry along in the diaper bag. Some baby toys and other little goodies. On top of the cake I added the sheep that I was working on a couple posts back. She just LOVED it and was pleased to see a sheep as the cake topper. It will go so well in her baby room. Once she gets the room all set up she will be inviting me over and I will make sure to bring along my camera for a few pics to share with you guys. It will be all primed up with sheep and stars, it will look wonderful.
And guess what???
My husband took some photos of my gardens and I am finally able to share them with you. Sorry for not posting them sooner...my fault! Now keep in mind nothing is in bloom because the flowers had such a shock from being moved and replanted. BUT my mother in-law promised me by August they will be all in bloom. Even though they are not flowered everything still looks sharp. We still have some more work to do but don't we always :)))))
I was speaking with Tabitha, my daughter tonight and boy is she ever missing home. I can not wait, she arrives Thursday supper time. It sure has been two very long weeks for us and for her! But she is having a blast...visiting lots of places and lots of people. Which she just loves...she is my little social bug ;) She says the weather has been very hot and sunny...lucky her...lol. She also has spent ALL her money. I guess she did TONS of shopping! But I was told she got some great deals, I am anxious to see all her purchases and HER!
Well I am off to hit the hay. We are having a barbecue, pot luck tomorrow night with all our friends and kids to celebrate Canada Day on the back deck. Should be lots of fun! I will be sure to get some photos and post them Tuesday.

I love your diaper cake! I know, you do need a 3rd hand to make one! I can't wait to see the nursery, sounds so prim!!
Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your sale. I'm sure your customers were upset too. We have been getting rain all June, but thankfully the last few days have been dry. But more predicted this week. I see a lot of crops under water.
Your yard is looking great. Gardening is a tough chore but it's so nice to get the outside looking great!
Wow, your daughter is still on her vacation! I bet she is getting homesick, I would too! But I'm sure she is having such a great time! I hope you have a great day!!
You did a GREAT job with your cake, Sandy! I can't wait for a little peek at your friend's nursery.
Hasn't the rain been awful?! It's all we've had here, too -- for days. I hope you get to reschedule your sale soon.
Any special plans for when your sweetie returns?
Have a good -- and hopefully sunny -- day!
Happy Canada Day!!
Your 'cake' came out great and I bet it was the hit of the shower. Can't wait to see the nursery.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! hugs, Linda
