WeLcOmE tO dAy 7 ~
SpEcIaL tReAt To SuPpEr...McDoNaLdSToday for day 7 was a special treat for supper...McDonalds. The girls LOVE this place, but don't all kids? :) We were suppose to go there but I forgot when making the calendar that Tabitha has singing on Monday nights and we car pool for this. Someone picks her up and we go and get them when it's done. We would not of had enough time to go there eat and play. So we had the treat at home instead. Much more relaxing... :)

Tonight was a gift night which the girls were anxious for. I am telling ya...that Dollarstore is the best! You can find some really nice gifts there. I got Abby a dog which came with lots of accesories. Tabitha got a little box with some stationary in it along with some candies. And Mike got his favorite treat of all...Maltesse. Has anyone tried these things? I bet you can't just have one??? They are addicting...LOL.

Today I am sharing with you my china cabinet with my antique dishes. When I moved into this house 5 1/2 years ago I had a local man build me this beautiful cabinet to display my set of dishes that I inherited from my Grandmother 18+ years ago. Imagine...I use to keep them stashed in the cupboard and even boxes. What a shame!
I have here a picture of the cabinet that was taken during Christmas time...

I had little doilies inside and on each shelf...it was cute but I wanted a change. So I dusted out the cabinet cleaned up the dishes and removed the doilies. I am thinking I like it much better. It goes better with the decor I have going on in the Dining Room.

My grandmother had told me that she bought these dishes about 60 years ago. She was able to order these through the mail and they would come in from Quebec, Canada. She ordered piece by piece each week until she had a set of 12 along with accesories. But sadly today I only have a set of 6. Not sure where the other 6 sets ended up. It is actually a large set because it also came with the clear dishes that you see with it. It has the large serving bowl, platter, sugar and creamer. The same flower on all the pieces. The picture does not show them well, but they are a cream color and the flowers are pink.

When I was graduating from High School my Grandmother gave them to me and told me to take good care of them. On the back of each dish, it says Made in England "Blossom Time" and are stamped 22k gold. Around each rim of each dish it is trimmed off with gold.

I have threatned my husband to never use these dishes...not even if the King or Queen were to come home...LOL.
I will trearsure these dishes for as long as I live and want to make sure to pass them down go the Generations to come. I have lots of Family members who really want them but Gram gave them to me. I will never part from them for as long as I live.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day today. It was really chilly here. The sun was shining and was quite warm but we had the wind with it in which made it a tad chilly.
I am off to catch up some of my favorite blogs so until tomorrow my Friends :)

Hi Sandy - isn't it just wonderful when family treasures stay in the family....I had to laugh at your comment to your husband about using them.....lol
Also, having them displayed in a cabinet that was built just for you for the dishes is even more special....it brings the two together.
