It'S bEeN a WeEk AlReAdY???

I can't believe it's been a week already...SORRY everyone that it has been so long.

My hubby was actually able to get a week off work so we have been laying low. Well we went away over the weekend to our best friends place. It was very, very relaxing! We did a whole lot nothing. Saturday we just sat around and chatted all night and then Sunday was a big b-que day with all of our friends, friends. We met some really nice people and ate a whole lot of food. The girls played with other children and Abby discovered the bubble making machine. We lost her with that for hours...
As you can see here she was making real big bubbles that is why she enjoyed it so much and besides she goes through alot of bubbles in the summer...LOL

This thing can make bubbles as large as 5 to 6' long. It was actually pretty amazing.
And then of course Uncle Andrew has a motorcycle that the girls thought was pretty neat and they had to ask if they could go for a ride. But Abby is to little to get on this machine so she was just happy enough to dress up and have her picture taken. But Tabitha on the other hand wanted the ride.

So here is Abby smiling proudly with thumbs up...to cute :)
And then came Tab's turn...Uncle Andrew promised not to drive fast and he stuck to it because Tabitha was actually a bit scared starting out BUT by the end, LOVED it! The kids call him Uncle because he has been friends with my husband since they were 5 years old, so to us he is family and the girls love him to death. And he is also the Godfather to Tabitha so they have that little extra connection to each other.
And there they go...
This next picture is of the beautiful view from his house. He lives in the country by the water...what a retreat! We really did enjoy ourselves so much.
Come Monday after lunch we packed up everything and headed into the City hoping for a bit of touring but of course it rained the whole day. So we decided to finish up shopping for school. Found some really great deals for the girls and now they are all set with their new clothes.

By supper time we went to Swiss Chalet with my best friend and her husband who live right in the City. Ate some more good food and had a good chat then got ready to head back home. We arrived home around 10pm, unloaded the van and hit the hay.
The next day was spent doing the wash and putting away our things.

And then of course my DH caught a cold while away so he has been feeling all down and crappy. But then my little one woke up this morning not feeling herself. By bedtime she was sneezing alot and had a fever. So now I have two sick babies and to be honest I am not feeling all that well as I am typing this. I just started sneezing and my nose is running. PLEASE don't tell me I am coming down with a cold??? Colds in the summer really SUCKS! We are all pumping ourselves up with Vitamin C...

Since I don't cross the border on a daily basis...I finally went and picked up my mail over in Limestone, Maine and to my surprise I received my WINNINGS, my lovely doll made by Katie over at "A little of this & that" http://kateskountrykottage.blogspot.com. Here is Eloise, thanks so much Katie, I LOVE her!!! My girls think she is soooo CUTE to!
As I mentioned in my last post, I was suppose to sew this week but not knowing that DH was going to be off for the week I will begin sewing next week instead. Trying to spend as much together as a family since he does not get much time off work. And besides the both girls start school in two and half weeks. Hard to believe that Summer is coming to a end and Fall is setting in :(((( I love Summer and felt we got ripped off this year, especially for the month of August. Hopefully we will get some more nice weather before the Fall sets in.

Well I think I am off to bed...need to feel better for tomorrow.

Bye for now...Sandy ;)

Sure sounds like you had a great time. DH and I work different shifts and so we don' get much time together either so we always take advantage when we can. Yourdoll is adorable. Congrats on your win.

Three cheers for laying low with the family last week!

I hope everyone will be well soon, Sandy. I also hope that we're going to have a lovely fall. Late July and early August have been rather wet and disappointing here as well.

Take care :)
