CoMpLeTeD PrOjEcTs & a NeW oNe

I was up and at early this morning. Yet again another infusion. This time around they had a hard time finding a vein. I HATE NEEDLES!!! They had to poke me three times before finding the right one. I tell ya, it hurts when they don't get the vein and the fluid is running directly inside your arm. I have been getting infusions for a year and a half now and never had this happen. I hope it does not happen again. I hate needles so much that I could faint so this is hard for me and I get this done every six weeks. Oh well, another one done and I am all set for another six weeks.

Over the last few days I completed a couple of projects and started a new one. A few posts back I started this stackable pumpkins and dreaded on doing the eyes, nose and mouths because they were so small to cut out. Leslie gave me the idea on painting the faces, which was a good one but I decided to cut them out and that is what I did. Once I had the faces cut out I completed the stitching in one evening. The longest part was waiting for the frame to dry from the stain. It does not show in the picture but I painted, sanded and stained the frame. And it is now hung in my dining room and looks so cute and prim. Even though the picture does not show it.
My next project was so simple and I think it took me five minutes to put all together...LOL. I purchased this pumpkin for $1 and was thinking how I could incorporate it into my decorations. I took a light that I had laying around, put a candle reflector over it and put it inside this pumpkin. I hot glued the top or lid what ever you would want to call it, onto the pumpkin and then put filling inside. I think it looks rather cute :)
Also after cleaning out our cubby hole under the stairs, you should of seen my rec room. It looked like a hurricane struck it. I cleaned it from top to bottom, tearing everything apart and vacuming every knook and cranny. I dusted everything in sight and cleaned the windows. I can't believe how clean it looks now, if only it could last...LOL. This is our little room that we gather to watch TV...it's so comfy and cozy. Not quite as prim as I would like but it's good enough for now. I am trying to figure out how to convert that very large white unit into a prim looking one. It's melamine so it does not work as well as what wood would. I'm thinking the color red barn or something with black handles. But that will be a very later project since we have many others to complete first.
My newest felt project that I cut all out yesterday is coming along great. For the life of me I can not find where I got this project from so I am very sorry and if any one knows please let me know. Since I am at the hospital for 4 hours for my infusion, time can seem very LONG. I decided yesterday to cut this all out and work on it while at the hospital. I am almost all complete with the stitching. Imagine that!!! I figure while sitting and watching TV tonight with hubby I will have it completed. Now will be where to put it...but I am sure I will find that right spot. I am really enjoying stitching and it's soothing I find. I think after this one, I have a pattern for a Christmas one that I will start next. I have to start thinking about Christmas/Winter because before we know it, snow will be here. Once we hit the month of October we could wake up any morning to a light snow fall. And sadly they are predicting another bad winter this year with lots of snow. YUCK!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! For us Canadians it is a long one, Thanksgiving that is. We will be heading out to my parents for a delicious turkey supper for Sunday. YUMMY!!! I also have not seen my parents for my birthday so we will also celebrate it again there. How fun :))))

So until next time...
Sandy

Your stitcheries look great! And your gathering room looks very comfortable. I bet that melamine unit can be sanded, primed and painted and distressed to perfection. But it does look like a huge task!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I just saw that on my calendar! :)

I have so veins, so anytime I have to have a needle it's such a big deal and I end up so sore, I know how you feel!

You sure have done so much and I love everything that you have stitched:)

Have a wonderful birthday and Thanksgiving:)

Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving! I loved it when we lived in Canada; we had Canadian thanksgiving and then in Nov. the American one; what a great excuse to really have some excessive food! LOL; I hope that you are feeling better now; I hate needles too and I don't know how you do it; but I think you are brave and I wish they could find a way to make it easier for you; here they will numb the area before putting in an iv; I made them do it when I got my gallbladder out as I am hard to find veins in; maybe I'll have to start weightlifting; they always have big veins right? LOL; Love your crafts they are great!

Hi Sandy! I hope you are having a great weekend with your family!

I love all your new Halloween goodies! You are always so creative. And I think the white unit would look grand red! But I would paint everything red if I could. :)

All of your projects are wonderful. I like the stacked pumpkins in your dining room.

I really like your room prim or not. I have rooms that aren't prim YET too. LOL.

I love all the things you have made...WOW! The pumpkins hanging on the wall are too cute and the one that you said you did while at the hospital is too. Where do you get your patterns? Are they all done on felt? I'd love to do some of these but I have to have very specific directions!
