Here we are once again...the weekend!
It seems the weekend comes sooner and sooner. It just seems like it was Monday and here we are now Saturday. Boy time flies when your having fun...hehe
I finally painted my frame for my very first stitchery. Boy am I pleased with how it turned out :) I distressed the frame but it does not show up all that well in the picture. I coffee died it and baked in the oven for a prim perfection.

Tabitha loved it so much that she has decided to try stitching on her own. When she finishes her very first one I will post a picture. Her and her best friend buy each other a gift each year for Christmas. So she has decided to go homemade this year. She takes a bit after her mom when it comes to spending her money. She has been saving up for a laptop. We made a deal that we were not paying out all that money but if she helped on paying it, we would reconsider. So since fall, she has been saving every little penny from babysitting money to selling her jewelry that she makes. I have to give her credit when it comes to her money that she worked for, she knows how hard it is to earn it. She is very careful on how she spends it. And since she knows a laptop is expansive, she has been pinching every penny. She has a nice chunk saved up so far. Here is a picture of some of her jewelry that she was selling when we did our Craft Sale this Summer. It's hard to see here but you can see a few necklaces on the table. She actually got a order from a lady because she had purchased jewelry before from Tabitha. She wants Tab to make a whole set from a necklace, bracelet, earrings to a ring for her two daughters. Well you can imagine, Tabitha is seeing $$$ signs right now...LOL

I now have started my second stitchery which will end up being a tea towel. This one is a tad bit harder since I am trying to stitch the leaves on the Willow Tree. Much more tiny, so I find it takes more time. But that is OK because I am enjoying this so much! Here is a sneak peak and of course I did not copy where I got this pattern from so I am not sure. If anyone does know, I want to give credit to the one who posted the free pattern. The stitchery will become a pocket on the towel...how CUTE!

I have promised myself once I complete this stitchery I will make my valance with that wonderful black and tan checkered material I bought the other day and then I can start another stitchery. I have plans to make matching pillows for Christmas. One is a Snowman and the other will be a Santa. Free patterns that I found on
"Twigs & Sprigs". She has alot of fun patterns of all seasons posted free on her site. They are all hard to choose which ones to do next :)
The other day with excitement I received a package in the mail :) I ordered a Campfire Marshmallows candle made by McCalls Candles from "
Antique or Not". She has a wonderful store online and fast service. I ordered the candle because no one from around here sells these candles at all and I have heard such wonderful remarks on this scent. And since I was making a order, I also ordered this plate that has Primitive written on it, some button melt tarts and a handtowel that is reversible for the Seasons. Pam was also so kind and sent 3 other button melt tarts, scented Country Store, Autumn Leaves and Hot Buttered Rum. They all smell so good, not sure which one I will use first. Thank You Pam for such wonderful and quick service. I am very pleased with my purchase. Oh by the way...
I LOVE my marshmallow campfire candle. The house smells so good!!!

Today is a day to get my laundry all caught up and some cleaning of the house. Hubby works every Saturdays so I try to get the house all organized so we can do what ever we want on Sundays. So I must run for now...I have to sneak at a few blogs before I continue cleaning...hehe
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far...It's Halloween Friday. Can't wait to help the girls dress up for such a fun occassion. So until next time...have a great weekend :)

Love your first stitchery...looks wonderful in the frame.
Good for your dd pinching her pennies! I'm sure she'll have enough money for the laptop in no time.
Time does fly when you're having fun...enjoy the weekend!
Sandy thet turned out great! I just love it!
...and since I can't quite smell the candle from here, I might have to buy one too!
Good luck to Tabitha on her stitching!

Sandy your stichery looks fantastic! I am going to attempt one soon. I have paid $40 for one that I bought on ebay 2 years ago. That was a good price because others that they have sold sell for over $120. So, just think, maybe someday we can sell ours and make a fortune:) Keep up the good work!
I love your rag quilt that you have displayed with your sale items. This is something else that I would like to make. Did you make that too?
Have a great weekend.

Sandy,
You did GREAT on your first stitchery! Looks like we both tried it for the first time, didn't we? I love that pattern! I need to find me some more patterns! Now where did you get the snowman one?
I know you're proud of Tabitha! I can't wait to see her stitchery too!
I also love the goodies you got in the mail!
The next thing I want to try is the penny rug you gave me the pattern for...which was harder...the stitchery or the penny rug? Be honest..now! :)
Have a great weekend!

Sandy -
So glad that your goodies arrived safely and that you like them. I've had to reorder the Campfire Marshmallow tarts...they're flying out the door! LOL
Love your Primitive Gatherings stitchery!
Pam
Sandy you did an awesome job on the stitchery - I really like it a lot and snowmen are my favorite - you can use them all winter, not just for Christmas.
Way to go Tabitha - it's hard to save money when you can't put lots away at a time. Good for you.
Karen
Your first stitchery turned out great! They're REALLY addictive aren't they:) And that's something fun to share with your daughter too! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! <3Lauren
I love your stitchery! You did a great job! I have a question....in that pic of the things you sell, is that crow on a stick still available? I have been looking for one like that. Just wondering. ~Beth~
Your first stitchery looks like you have been doing it for years! Great job!
And I have to commend your DD for being willing to work for something she wants. That says a lot about you as a parent too. Bravo!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
What do you mean it is Halloween of Friday? Where did fall go?
Love all your new goodies! I copied that pattern you are putting on a towel and I can't remember where it came from either!
Sandy,
I love your stitchery, especially the willow tree one!! Ive been wanting to give these a try but for some reason am afraid AND I cant find the hoops for the life of me!
I just love your stitches too, I know those willow trees take a long time - I;ve just finished two of them, and they are quite fiddly to do. But its all worth it in the end....lol..to a stitchng fan!
Hi Sandy!
Wow, you sure are doing great with the stitchery's, the snowmen are adorable and love that towel that you are working on...your daughter sounds like she is just like you, how sweet she will appreciate the lap top so much more. I'd like to see more of her jewelery:)
I have the same crow towel in my bath and I just love it.
I've been meaning to stop in the Country Store to smell these candles because they do carry them just never enough time:)
Rondell
Oh, BTW, the pattern you sent by email...it won't print, the words do but not the pattern, am I doing something wrong?
Rondell
I love your stitchery! I see you store your patterns the same way I do. I print more patterns than I'll ever be able to stitch. lol So now I need a whole new three-ring binder because mine is full.
Your daughter sounds so level-headed. Good luck to her on getting the laptop and on doing her stitchery.
I just found your blog this morning and I'm really glad I did.
I'm drooling over all of your prim goodies, Sandy! The stitchery looks wonderful!
Do you love McCall's candles? I keep hearing so many good things about them and I found out that a store nearby sells them. I'm so tempted to stop in and pick one up soon.
Have a wonderful week, my friend!
I love your stitcheries! They are so addicting. I just ordered more patterns, plus I have alot of free ones. I have two of those crow towels that I ordered ~ love that they are two sided.
Pam
Great job!! Stitiching is addictive!! I know Tabitha will really appreciate the lap top when she gets it because she has worked so hard to save for it. Have a great day. Julie
Hello! Just found your blog and loved looking at all of your signs! I felt like I was looking through a fabulous catalog! You did a great job on the valances and the snowman stitchery too!
