Hubby is home...yeah!!! He arrived at 8:10pm, Monday night at the airport. His plane came in late! He flew from Atlanta to Toronto - Toronto to Fredericton. But once he was in Toronto they were having computer problems which caused a 6 hour delay. Fredericton is two hours away from home so I had to stick around in the City waiting for him to get in. Boy was I happy to see his face and he was happy to be home. It was a long day for the both of us. While I waited for him I did alot of window shopping!!! I did make a purchase though at the Fabric Store...some beige and black check material. I have been wanting this fabric for quite sometime now to make a valance in my Dining Room. Now I have to get my butt in gear and get sewing.
Today is another ~Whatcha Working On Wednesday~...
Last night I started my very first stitchery and boy am I liking it!!!
I am actually almost completed, as you can see here.
I bought Wax Free Tracing Paper to trace the pattern onto my material, but it did not show up very well at all. Is there something else out there that you guys use to make the pattern more visible? It took me almost an hour to trace the pattern...the part that I liked least. I'm thinking that has to be something else out there. Also once the stitchery is done, am I able to coffee/tea die my material to give it that aged look? I don't want to mess anything up. If this works out as planned, I have a couple other patterns to make. I am now planning my Christmas/Winter Decorations...thinking my next one will be a winter pillow. I want to frame this one that I am making right now.
I have been yet again given another Award :) I am so grateful each and everytime I am given one. Kath from The Olde Weeping Cedar has awarded me with the "Kreativ Blogger Award". If you have yet been over to her blog, you should run on over. It's a great blog! I love reading what she has been up to and everything else :)
The rules are as follows; You need to list six things that make you happy, and pass this award on to six creative bloggers.1- My husband, Mike
2- My daughters, Tabitha & Abigayle
3- My mini-poodle, Daisy
4- Life
5-All of my other Family
6- My Friends
There are so many "Creative Bloggers" out there that I can not just choose six, so I choose all of you. If you would like to participate, please grab the award and post it on your blog.
I have also been tagged by Ashley from "Passion for Prims".
I believe I have participated already once before but I am gamed to do it again...
1- Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2- Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3- Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
So here goes...
1- I am a VERY PICKY eater! I am NOT gamed to try anything and everything. I eat only two kinds of meats, chicken and pork. In the summer I guess I will have the odd burger but that is it for red meat.
2- I would LOVE to own a very old home and restore it...but that wont happen because hubby is fed up of renovations...LOL
3- I dream of owning my very own Primitive Store and putting what I make in it but also having a little area with baked goods and homemade sweets.
4- I am a COFEE HOLIC, Tim Hortons at that!!! I have to have my coffee when I get in the morning and I have seen myself even have one in the evening. I know it's bad but it could be worse right???
5- I LOVE dogs and hate to hear when someone is abusing one. Just like the old saying, "A dog is a man's best friend". They listen to you with attention, they give you so much love, they love to cuddle all the time, they great you at the door with so much excitment. There is so much about a dog, the list could go on. My little Daisy is my baby girl :)
6- I have two SOAP OPERAS that I have to watch on a continous basis...Day's of our Lives and Guiding Light. I have been watching these programs for years...I feel like I have grown with the people...LOL. I know, that is bad but they are my two favorite programs.
7- My most prized possesion are my Grandmother's dishes that are well over 55 years. She gave them to me when I graduated High School. I had a special cabinet made just for them. I have threatned my husband that I better never see them out on the table, even if the King or Queen came home for supper. These dishes can not be replaced.
So there you all go...a little bit more about me :)
I am now suppose to tag seven people but it seems like every blog I have visited has already been tagged. So if you have not been tagged, consider tagged and post seven things about you.
I hope everyone is having a Wonderful Fall Wednesday or for some Winter Wednesday...LOL

I like the fabric you bought & can't wait to see the curtains. Your stitchery is wonderful. I started stitching, too, and it's addicting. Glad your hubby is home.

Thanks Sandy for your kind comments and support! The DH is back at work and seems ok; but I worry of course! The truck is still in the shop and now the other truck needs new brakes!!! ARRGH! I tell you if it snowed here today I would lose my mind completely! How are you? Are you feeling well? Glad to see your DH had fun and is now home safe:) Merrie
Congrats on the well deserved award!
I love the snowman and I hope that someone answers your question about the wax paper, because I have the same problem!
Blessings,
Rosemary
Hi Sandy, I've never tried transfering my patterns... I just trace with a good sharp pencil onto the muslin or whatever fabric I'm using.
Your snowmen look awsome... and what great timing with your snowfall!
Keep up the great work!
Kimberly
Oh yeah... Timmy's rocks! Looove their English Toffee Cappuccinos...
So glad hubby had a great time and got home safe. Love your new fabric - what great valances it will make!! I lay my fabric on top of the pattern and it usually shows through and I trace it that way with washable marker.
What a fun post, Sandy! I love your stitchery! I've been doing some of those too. Isn't it addictive?!
Have a great night! Hopefully snow-free...
Sandy - glad the hubby got home safely! Love the fabric and the snowman stitchery!
YAY!!!!! Hubby is home!!!!
Love your stitchery. Another thing to try is if you have the pattern on computer print it on your fabric. If you need directions on how to do that let me know I'd be happy to tell you.
P.S. The ghosts turned out fabulous!
Mary
I use a lightbox and water soluable pen...then when you stain your fabric...the pen disappears!
Love the fabric you bought, can't wait to see your curtains:) Your stitching is so cute too.
Yes, if you can e-mail me the crow pattern:) Thanks so much.

Sandy I just tuned into your blog and could not belive you just have the same prob with the tracing paper as me... in fact my latest post is about it! I am quite upset as it took me ages to draw the pattern on and then iron on and look...nothing except a few specks out onto the material, :( so if any one has any ideas for you I will gladly read about them too.
LOVE you stitchery!!!! its fun isnt it? I'm hooked..lol!
Sandy,
I finally did up a stitchery tutorial and posted it today. I have another solution...you can use your printer if the pattern is on your computer. Other than that, I haven't traced anything to paper. Up until recently when I learned to print on fabric, I only did my own designs.
I love your stitchery and I have to say it's VERY addicting. I picked up my stitching stuff about two months ago and haven't put it down. It seems every blogger that I check in with has started or wants to! LOL
Have a great day! Glad to hear your hubby is home.....it just makes life so much better to have your hubby back, doesn't it?
Leslie
LOVE your stitchery!!!
I can't wait to see your valance when it is finished.Congrats on the award. You deserve it! Have a blessed day!
Juanita
So glad your hubby made it home okay. Love that fabric too.
Also enjoyed reading about you. Those dishes sound so nice. Would love to see them someday.
Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by Sandy...I really appreciate the sweet words you said and I'm trying to keep a positive additude:) Although that is so hard at times:)
Thanks again for the crow pattern, I just love it.

Goode Evening...
So glad to see you came to visit with me. Thank you dearly for your sweet comment.
You will lovvvvvvvve stitching... it is a wonderful thing to do while lounging & watching tv. Your snowmen are just too cute.
I am sure you are glad to have your man back home safely.
Blessful AuTuMn DaY, Pamela
If you start up a shop, can I put some of my items in it?! :) That would be fun!
The flu shot works for my kids not to get the flu but they still get pretty sick in the winter months. The Dr. thinks Kellon has asthma caused by viral infections in the cold months. He just coughs and coughs and has to be on breathing treatments. I dread the upcoming months just because of this. I hope your daughter feels better soon. It's no fun seeing the kiddos sick like that!
well hello from one "coffee-holic" to another! :)
I love your snowman stitchery!! I just started stitching too...I am just starting my second one now...I got a lot of help from Leslie's tutorial and from Tammy too and from Karen...I think just about everyone has helped me!
I need all the help I can get! I love the fabric ya picked.
Have a great weekend!
*hugs*

I love to stitch. I use Super Solvy by Sulky. I trace my design onto it, then baste stitch it to the fabric I'm stitching on. When done, just submerge your project in water, and the super solvy disappears. Its wonderful!!!
It looks like you have alot of people who have some great ideas. I have never stitched one but you have me interested in starting one. Oh no...not another project.LOL Dianntha
